Your Escape from the Bustle
At Sheltered Nook, life moves a little slower. Stopping and smelling the roses isn’t a luxury around here, it’s a requirement. Surrounded by towering trees that block out the noise, Sheltered Nook creates a peaceful sanctuary where folks can breathe in the coastal air and breathe out their problems.
Tiny Homes: Explore the tinier side of life
Sheltered Nook features six uniquely-themed tiny homes. Each home has 385-square-feet of living space. The homes are fully furnished with locally-made furniture, a TV, and all the cooking utensils you may need during your stay.
Dee and Hank even like to stock the cupboards with food and baking supplies. While tiny homes have become a trend for millennials, these tiny homes are perfect for families, couples, and anyone interested in a thoughtful and respectful way of life.
Each tiny home is decorated with its own theme
Themes include The Gardener, Beach Comber, The Birder, Mermaids, Gone Fishin’ and a sixth tiny home that will be wheel chair friendly.
The tiny homes are custom designed
While each tiny home is only 385 square feet, they are custom-designed to utilize vaulted ceilings and plenty of natural light, making the space feel larger than life. You’ll enjoy your own private WiFi network, flat screen TV, a thoughtfully-stocked kitchen with full-sized appliances, plenty of closet space and even a full-sized shower.
Furniture is locally crafted
All the furniture is made locally by McRae and Sons and fits naturally in each space.
Each tiny home is equipped with three queen-sized beds – two in the loft and one in the master bedroom. A family of six can easily sleep, eat, and fellowship together all in 385 square-feet.
When you’re here, then you’re home
Owners Hank and Dee wanted to create a place where people could come and feel like part of a community. That’s why they decided to open up their home three years ago. While it has since evolved from a bed and breakfast to six individual tiny homes, a stay at Sheltered Nook still feels like coming home. Because people will always need a place where they can go and call their own.
Enjoy the communal fire pit and much more
A private deck with a barbecue and individual gardens surround each tiny home. And, a communal fire pit and picnic tables are available for each guest to use. You’ll often find the owners out there making s’mores and visiting.
A unique view of the forest
Each room has a unique view of the forest, where you will often find Blue Herons, Bald Eagles and other wildlife nesting in the trees.
Bring your four-legged friends
Sheltered Nook is completely dog friendly. Apart from The Gardener, each tiny house accommodates dogs as well as people. Owners Dee and Hank have two dogs themselves that often great each guest as they arrive.
